Fun platformer! I like how you can use the environment to change the enemies' temperature. Only thing I'd suggest is to decrease the hitbox on the enemies. Good job!

Did you follow the theme?
The theme was a major inspiration for the gameplay and art design. The main character and the enemies are all designed around temperature, and this also influences gameplay. You need to lower the temperature of the enemies in order to attack them (this is done by making them touch water), and the main character will melt if the temperature is too high in each level.

Good concept and I found the characters rather cute. Some ingame instructions were a little unclear, like having to jump before getting through the slime, but all in all a good experience
Nice to see a vertical downward platformer! It is rather uncommon. I really enjoyed the different types of platforms and the interactions you managed to create between them. Navigating them required a nice blend between precision and puzzling out where you are supposed to go.
There were some, relatively minor issues:
- The hitboxes were a bit iffy at times, resulting in some cheap deaths
- For my liking, the controls felt a little too floaty, making some jumps harder than they needed to be. The game doesn't require crazy precision so it's not a huge problem but maybe something to fine-tune if you plan to continue the project in the future (or make another platformer).
- I had a bug that all sounds and music just stopped after a death for the rest of the game(I think on level 6).
- My biggest issue is the length of the levels. For a game without checkpoints and with many insta-death situations, they are too long in my opinion. Making it towards the end of the level, then dying and having to replay the whole level was quite frustrating. I'd recommend either introducing checkpoints or cutting some of the longer levels in half.
Overall, this is a very solid entry.
I really enjoyed it! The enemy variety was very nice. Had a few iffy hitbox moments but so it goes lol. Great work!
A really fun game! Nice work on the animations, and I love that the button prompts reappear above buttons and enemies to remind you what to press. Collecting all of the ice-cream cones was a real challenge, but it definitely gives it some replayability. Great job!
This was quite a challenging but fun game. Collecting every ice cream cone would be really tough. There was one part where I got stuck--an enemy jumping underneath a fire and they were out-of-sync, so you had to stand there and wait for them but they never quite got synced up enough for you to make the jump. I'm sure if you waited long enough it would happen but there's a time-limit haha. But other than that the level design was really great. I liked the pace with which you introduced new mechanics into each level too. And it was an impressive quantity of different mechanics!
I just found a bug, you can get stuck if you go too far. You can jump jump jump your way out. but just wanted to share. Also maybe making the hit box for the enemies to hurt you a little smaller, I feel they get me on the sides more than not. The fire jets are a little hard to read but that make a good challenge.
Let me say this was super fun to play, Normal felt a little hard, but I have some feedback to help with that. below are some screenshots of the moments that took a little longer then expected.
When you are at the point where you have to “cube” your way through the green bubbles with the upside-down walking along with block that break over time. The player gets stuck waiting for the block and if you move you will die from the fire. I had to get close to the walking part so when the last block went away I was allowed to move. The spike on this was so hard for me to clear, maybe lowering the collider or making some room for error would be nice. I didn’t know till later I could kill the round headband ones, Also I could see my score cuz of the fullscreen was too big within my browser. You can turn on the full screen button under the itch page settings, I think that would help also.
I really loved the cube life, getting to the end and using the cannon was well worth the journey, great job, I can’t wait to see what you make of it. Already I am blown away. Keep it up.
Thank you! I am actually planning on adjusting the difficulty modes a bit so they are overall easier to get through. I think I know what part you’re talking about in the upside down level, and I will definitely fix that too, along with the part with the spikes. I am planning on adding an arrow indicator above the heads of the enemies when they are able to be damaged, at least for the first few times, that should make it more clear. I’ll also fix the fullscreen issue. Your feedback was very helpful, thank you so much!
Mechanics are very fun. Level design is good, too. Had fun while playing.
I just played through the game! The screenshots had me excited to play the game, and after playing it, it was better than I expected! The controls are very smooth, the audio is awesome, and the story is good! Can't wait to see what levels and features you add in during the remainder of the jam! I genuinely enjoyed the game!
Hey! I tried downloading the file and playing it and it immediately crashes. (This was on my Mac) I tried it on Windows and it looks like it is a Mac only file. If you want to export a windows version, or a different Mac version let me know and I will try it out for you! Looking forward to playing this and seeing how you did on developing it
