Hello everyone, I'm not sure about the name yet, but I finally settled on an idea for my game! I have now One week left to make it happen.

Here's what I made this morning: https://twitter.com/timkrief/status/1198891069607481344

I'll explain the core concept in a bit, for now, I have to go back to work :o

It looks great so far! keep up the good work :3

Thanks :D Are you working on a game for this gamejam?

Yes i am!  but i'm a little scared about the time.

Update! I made the ray-trace based selection tool and I am experimenting with depth of field. I love depth of field but in a game it's hard to get right because you never know where to focus. For the moment I focus on the selection and I tried to keep the DOF effect quite subtle. Here's the result I get: https://twitter.com/timkrief/status/1199276249107042305

Great work so far :) If you need any help with graphics i can help.

Thanks :)

I think I'm going to call it a day! After the depth of field experiment and selection tool, I made a way to zoom into the city just using the mouse, by pointing and zooming, the camera snaps into place at the right place and right zoom level to focus on a part of the town. See the result here: https://twitter.com/timkrief/status/1199346774864883712

Good luck and see you tomorrow :D

To start the day, here's a closer look to the cursor I made to select the buildings using a particle system: https://twitter.com/timkrief/status/1199607969488478208

Today, I made a first draft of the crafting mechanics and I improved the zooming system quite a lot as you can see there: https://twitter.com/timkrief/status/1199690370977808389

I just updated the camera system to make it smoother so that it's easier for the eyes and to follow what's happening on screen. I think it might break in some case but I only have 4 days left... Better work on actual game play mechanics from now on :D
