I beat the game! Took a few tries but I really enjoyed it. It was challenging design but as I got more comfortable with the movement mechanics, it became easier. I thought the art was very well made! While it was difficult, I had fun!

Really love all the art! The little menu/intro is a clever way to introduce the mechanics, though personally I don’t have the patience for precision platformers…
This is nice! Really annoying and challenging in a good way.
The 45 degree slopes should not prevent you from jumping imo. They should simply not be possible to go up forever, and then correct the level design accordingly. That way the movement would feel more dynamic because I actually quite enjoyed how the character felt to move after getting used to it.
Another minor thing is that it would make the first area a bit more enjoyable to be in if you added like a .1 or so delay between hitting an electric switch to the platform beginning to move. That way you could hit the switch in driveby and still get on the platform:P
Those are very good points
I really liked the game’s art. In my opinion, the character could accelerate and decelerate a bit more slowly. It takes a while to get used to the player's inertia, and the game is punishing, but overall it's a great game
I really like what you were going for, but I'm not so sure the level design is quite on point. It feels frustrating in a way that you don't really want in my opinion. I'm saying this as someone who loves Getting Over It, I've finished that game over 50 times. One clear example I can give is there are these jumps where there is a slope going up to it, which peaks before you are supposed to jump, and then there is a slope downwards, where you are meant to jump, or at least that's how it felt. The problem with these, when you come up to them, you go flying for a split second, and then your jump input doesn't go through. I think apart from that sort of stuff in the level design, it's a really good game! Although, I'm one to speak , I designed levels for the first time in my submission and I'm not so sure I did very well either, lol
Artist of the game here. Yeah, I feel the same way about the downward slopes xD , I think letting the player have a 0.5 secs to still jump midair while on the downward slopes might help, I dont know any other solution atm
That's a great solution, I wanted to have that in my game too, never got around to it. Another solution would be to not put precise jumps on platforms where an upward slope is followed by a downward one, lol
An interesting combination of Sonic and Jump King - very challenging yet rewarding when you hit that jump that you continuously fail. The physics felt a little punishing at times, even after I felt like I had a handle on the speed increases. I do like the added element of player input adjusting the field in order to make or clear a certain jump. It opens up possibilities.
Super cute game! Wish I was better at these types of games lol. The character does seem to move really fast which may be a mechanic I'm not super used to, but it's the only thing I could think that would need work. Really good game over all!
I really like the animation on the character
Thank you! I did the art for the characters <3
