Description
A piano improv i recorded based on a conversation with my composition teacher about being out on the water, in nature, admiring everything around you and taking it all in. The Trees, the birds, the fish, the awe of the world around you. Inspired as well by the style of the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs soundtrack

Description of Setup (Optional)
All i really did was cut off the low and high ends of the piano and bump up the middle of it a little bit to help get the tone i was looking for without a lot of ringyness, There is also a synth that fades in and out that i've isolated the upper middle tones of it to help it stand out more when the main feature is the lower parts of the piano. Its not meant to be a standout part, just there to help build the character of the piano sound.

Hey! I did a review of your entry via video. I posted it on the Jam discord but appreciate everyone might not be on there. Here's the video timestamp for your entry: https://youtu.be/1-aLhBdNCKE?t=9036

I love this. This is gorgeous and minimalist. I'm getting vibes of Debussy's Sunken Cathedral. I could listen to this all day!

Sweet piece you played with emotion, nice dynamics, I know you joined late but it doesn't matter I can see the minecrraft vibe you're going for (also practicing it for your jam I bet XD) , good job.

This is a gorgeous piece. I love the sparseness to really let the tones of the piano ring out, as well as the contrast between the really low notes and the light airy ones. It's got this sort of confidence to it because of the minimalism that really makes it sound amazing.

You said on the discord you aren't a great piano player, but listening to this I feel you were just being too modest 😉 since the playing felt natural, by which I mean it had a sort of effortless quality to it like speaking.

Really liked the contemplative and flowing feel this had and the combination of the pad alongside the piano with the sparse playing really does give those Minecraft vibes.

Like Kale mentioned this has big impressionistic vibes, really reminding me of the style I've heard in a lot of contemporary Japanese piano solo stuff that also give this nice contemplative feel.

Nice one!

Heh! I remember the improv and piano conversation and you came through!

I like it. It definitely has an impressionistic vibe along the Satie variety.

Well done! :)

This hits just right. It's a very bold move to craft atmosphere this thick with just two elements, and to actually execute it this well is even more impressive.  Moving.

Minimal, like a drop of water on a lake :) Liked it.

beautiful notes, but it's too milimanistic for me and I don't know what to latch on to.
