The idea has potential, but it's a little frustrating in this version. There isn't any kind of in-game direction, which makes it hard to figure out what I'm supposed to do. I had to just run around trying all the buttons on my keyboard to figure out what I could do, and I wasted a ton of time trying to figure out how to get past that (possibly impassable) pile of logs. It's a solid entry despite all of that, though. I didn't encounter any bugs or other problems.
The game has promise, however it is lacking in any kind of goal or explanation on how to play. While there is something on the actual game page itself in how to fight, in-game explanations, even if only a button prompt, would be much appreciated as a fair few people don't bother reading game pages (or do what I do and download in bulk). A hint as to the goal of the game would also be a good idea, even if it were something as simple as x/32 enemies shown up in the right corner.
The graphics, designs and style of the game are great. The sounds are pretty good, but it would have been nice to have some background tune playing. The lack of any kind of direction is kind of annoying (it would have been really nice to have had a stage-type showcase instead of random mooks to battle), but overall it's a pretty good prototype for a battle system.
