Honestly the space environment was really calming and marvelous to look at, it was the alien ships that made me worry, trying to get the ore into the base was a hassle though, not a fan of the attaching and de-attaching mechanic as it got confusing quick, but I understood it later. The classical music reminds me 2001 a Space odyssey for some reason, It's a pretty creative game I'll give it that

Originally the enemy AI was supposed to be more polished, but we ran out of time so the gameplay itself suffered a little as a result. And we actually changed it (after the jam) to where your ship would auto attach/detach when switching ships because it did feel kind of pointless to have as a separate mechanic. Thanks for playing!

I was kinda confused how to really play it, probably because a little tutorial wass missing explaining the objective. But after some tme I've understood the objective and had quite some fun!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Yea, that was my decision to not make the objective obvious. My goal was to have the player engage in exploration in an ominous/uncomfortable dark environment and the bright lights of the ships and ores be the guides. Sounds like you eventually figured it out as intended though. Thanks for playing!

Hey! it was surprisingly nice to play. I liked it a lot. The controllers were pretty good. I personally like the attaching and de-attaching mechanic. Maybe the camera was a bit different than usual, still cool. I had some moments were I was genuinely scared because I would hear the enemies but didn't precisely know where they were... However, the audio was pretty good, it helped a lot that it was stereo.

I have always liked low poly, so that was cool! The  I loved the enemies. The ships were... interesting. But it's cool, I understand and it was completely playable so yeah. I found a bug to go through craters, which actually made it a little more fun to be because it let me runaway from the enemies!

But yeah, without any doubt, cool game. Went faster than I expected, and enjoyed playing it!

Awesome to hear you enjoyed it! The goal was definitely to make it feel uncomfortable and ominous, so I'm glad the enemies had that effect on you. Originally I wanted to have the enemy AI more fleshed out, but we kind of ran out of time.

What was the bug btw out of curiosity? And were you able to fully outrun the enemy? Because he should have been chasing you nonstop after detecting you.

Rather fun game! It reminds me of Star Wars and those asteroid scenes. The only thing I would change is the art but all in all, Well Done!

Thanks for playing our game! Can I ask specifically what you would change about the art? Always looking for feedback to improve.
Thanks again!

For starters, the ship can have a bit more detail on it as well as add particles to the booster.

Developer(+1)

Cool thanks! yeah those are some valid ideas for sure.

This was a super cool concept! It felt so weird and spacey floating around, reminds me of something between the X-Wing/Tie Fighter series and Outer Wilds with the movement. I did get a weird glitch where the first time I got an ore it prompted me to connect to my transport ship, and then teleported me across the map to it when I pressed F. It was a bit weird that the mouse pivots the vertical angle of your ship but the camera stays the same, but I guess that helps with keeping oriented and adds a little to feeling of alien-ness with getting used to the controls. Altogether I loved this.

Developer

Hey thanks for trying out our game! I will look into that teleport bug as it shouldn't allow you to connect to the ship unless you're close to it. The movement is def a little janky and could be improved for sure. Glad you enjoyed the experience! Thanks for the feedback!

Hey, nice submission!  I thought the art was very cool, nice polygon aesthetic for the asteroids.  I liked the sounds the enemies made, and the music fit the atmosphere of being in space.

Took me a good 5 minutes to figure out how to play, and once I did I couldn't figure out what the money was for (other than a score, maybe?).  I also never saw what enemies did since I didn't get attacked.   I'd say the player's movement could be a bit quicker and more intuitive as well, to reduce travel time for mining and confusion in navigating around the asteroids.

Overall good work.  For the limited time frame I'm really impressed with the assets.  If you'd like, please check out my submission as well!  :)

Developer

Hey thanks for the in-depth feedback! Sorry it took so long to figure it out I guess we should have added a little more explanation. Glad you liked the atmosphere of the game. For the speed of the ship do you mean both the large and the small? and yeah I think the controls could def use some polish.

I will def check out your submission. Thanks for checking out ours!
