Good job! Cool monster

This was the first game of the jam that I played and it was great! Something about the style and setup got to me, and even though it was short I was thoroughly spooked by the end. I'm glad you stuck with it and finished it! Thanks!

I enjoyed it. The mouse speed was little fast but that's the only problem I had with the game. I liked the games look and all the assets seemed to fit well together. Good job!

This is a good proof of concept horror game and I'm glad that you persevered with it! It has a self-contained and complete horror narrative and demonstrates a good understanding of how to use Unity to drive a plot, and it's scripted fairly well. 

The pairing of a monster with the emergency alert trope is a fun idea! In this sense basing the story around an unusual disturbance communicated through the television is a fun way to introduce the horror, and it contrasts well with the player's mundane routine. 

The home is one of the most common but universally beloved horror settings for a good reason. I like how you introduce the monster by having the player turn a corner. It's always fun to keep players on their toes anticipating something scary about to happen. 

Some constructive feedback if you ever continue to develop this game: 

  • I know this game is a WIP, but if you're ever trying to figure out how to spot bugs, try seeing what happens if you do things in the wrong order of the 'logic' of the game. Doing this, you can find a few things, like dialog out of order. But none of this was a major issue on my first play at all. 
  • The most exciting thing about game development from here is figuring out how to interwork your own original elements into the game. There's nothing wrong with using prior license-free assets, but the creative control it gives you can be super fulfilling. I'd encourage you to look into how to finding ways to put together textures (GIMP) or sound design (Audacity) and go from there.
