nice game, at first time dont know what to do but later was great XD, really nice entry x3 and love the 2d art.
Good attempt for a second game jam😊!
GAMEPLAY
I read it was your 2nd Game Jam. Not bad at all. Full game cycle with enemies, sound, upgrades etc. The controls were difficult and bit confusing for me. Using WASD and the arrow keys for shooting. Maybe next time use the mouse for aiming and shooting. Did notice that some bullets go right through the enemy but it still get killed. But was fun to get more coins and upgrades and try to last longer.
GRAPHICS/ART
Nice pixel art style. Coherent. Maybe a bit more variation in the environment for a future update and some more particle effects for example.
AUDIO
Soundtrack fitted the art style. Some effects. Nice.
THEME
Ticked both themes and mechanics. Not much but it touched it both.
Nice job. Curious for the next jam game of yours💪!
Fun game with a good variety of enemies and upgrades. I enjoyed the graphics as well!
Some feeback too:
I got a bit confused as to whether or not I was damaging the enemies because there was no visual or audio feedback and the bullets seemed to pass through them.
And I'm not sure if it's intentional, but it seems that you move faster when going diagonally as well.
Pretty fun game. There seemed to be a good amount of level to explore. At first I had no clue what was going on. I seemed not to take any damage as I would run into large (what looked like) saws and other things that would hurt me, but there I was seeming to not take any damage. Then I checked and saw that controls were written out where you could shoot. My suggestion with the shot is that a player should never be able to move faster than their shot. Unless one of the mechanics is to shoot yourself. Anyway, speed up the shot and I think that would help increase the fun. Also some sort of indicator that you're being damaged or you're doing damage to the enemies would be good too. Well done!
I 100% agree with this
also, the bullet speed isn't actually something we considered at all so thanks for that feedback. usually when we get feedback its things we at least thought about lol
Once I saw how to shoot it made more sense. The music was nice, but I did find it kind of repetitive and a bit grinding. I wish I could shoot diagonally and that the bullets disappeared when they hit all the enmies. But for a week, nicely done :)
bullets disappearing on collision was actually one of the things we planned on implementing but were scrapped for time. We really needed to make more time for working on the game lol
also, I think diagonal shooting would make for a great upgrade!
Fun little game, but very classic. It took me a lot of time figuring out how to shoot. Nice procedural generation!
Thank you very much
also, I just added controls to the comments
No idea what to do just ran around until i thought id seen the whole map then died and could not buy anything. sound was good but a little glitchy sometimes. Nice graphics
oh sorry we didn't make the controls clear
I added controls to the page comments
it got rushed at the end
