Really liked the simple game loop!
With a bit of balancing (mainly enemy damage/health and prices), you have a cool game!

Adding some audio and sounds would also be great!

The art is top-notch—great work.
It's some of the best pixel art I've seen in this Game Jam, congrats!

Fun Survival Survivor style game.

Pros: 

  • Cute art
  • Fun concept - I liked the combining of the Survivor and Survival aspects, along with the TD aspect.

Critiques:

  • It was easy to overpower enemies originally, and I probably could have just left my fire alone after a couple nights.
  • Maybe a price increase on the crafting table after each purchase to scale difficulty
  • Some audio would have made the game more immersive
  • I didn't see a way to pause the game

Overall it has a ton of potential. Eventually more recipes, maybe another tower that you can defend with, etc. But the framework seems solid. One note: In the browser developer tools, your fireballs were racking up errors.

Lack of control layout or explanation of what to do in the beginning was challenging to get into. I didn't even realize you were a character that would go around and collect resources till I starting pressing keys because you start behind the fire. It was also unclear how to feed the fire, but I think with more clarity and explanation this would be a lot more fun.

Very cute game, no idea how you made it with such a demanding chat watching you. But now onto some serious comments. It was very easy to quickly become overpowered to the point that the game would lag with the amount of flames on the screen. There's also no way to get out of the upgrade screen when you don't have enough to buy any upgrade.

This was really cute… the art and music are sweet and the mechanics were fun and easy to use. It took a few tries to get a good strategy down but was a blast once I got into the groove I will definitely be playing this in the future!

Cool visual style and simple but fun game loop.

It would be nice to see how many upgrades you had put into each category. But that’s a small thing.

Fun game! It was a cool idea and I loved fighting along side the fire :) 

It took me a little bit to figure out the controls. Maybe I missed a screen that shows you? Also on my screen you can see the Game Over message when you click on the upgrade bed (not a big deal, but thought I'd let you know).

The cute art is fire (no pun intended) and I love the animations for the fire and tree falling. I think the concept is cool, but it got to a point quickly where I machine-gunned enemies so maybe there could be a ramping challenge with enemy durability or speed to keep up.  There is also no pause button so when I lose the game it doesn't restart.
