Developer

Yeah I definitely needed to add more explanation, Nice job making it through! Thanks for playing, it was a lot of fun to make.

Ok first off, this game looks really good. The art is beautiful and all the idle animations are really smooth. As others mentioned, having to use the same fingers I use to move to also shoot was challenging and took away from the experience. I think the biggest thing the game could use is a little more explanation of how it all works. I don't really understand the number over my head, like I know it's my health but it seemed to go down randomly and at random rates. It also took me several deaths before I realized that you can only hop to a new host when their health is lower than yours. Certainly a cool mechanic, but it wasn't something I guessed until hopping a few times and wondering "wait why did it decide to work NOW?" I also would sometimes have the game zoom in too far while I was playing and it was hard to see enemies.

Nevertheless, you put together a pretty little game, and I think with just a bit more information for the player it would clean up a lot of the frustration I had at the start. Once I figured out was going on I enjoyed it more. Great job!

Yeah i needed to add a lot more explanation. Thanks for the feedback on the control orignally i wanted to add a lot more in there but after cutting it all down I didn't correctly update the input to make it easier to work with. Two of the being things I missed you bring up here is You have to weaken enemies first before you can take them over. As for the zoom in problem I wanted to have two negative effects for each host so while you're constantly losing health you also get another random debuff that i don't convey well. (reduce sight, slower move speed, weaker attacks, etc) Thanks for all the feedback!

I like the concept of jumping between hosts while also fighting the oncoming enemies. The 1-2 buttons to attack is a really weird design choice as It is a very unusual and uncomfortable move to make while also trying to use WASD and mouse... could it have been left and right click on a mouse instead? I feel like I'm missing something, but a great first participation!

Developer

Yeah the inputs could have been much better handled I wanted to go for a lot more and then when i cut everything down didn't update the inputs well to make it better to play. Thanks for feedback and for playing!

The idea of looking for your "chosen one" is really nice, and opens to a lot of possible mechanics. It also invites to experimentation and discovery, which works really well for games like this.  However, I'm afraid that your gameplay is a bit too hard: I tried ten times or more, but I always ended up dead with the second group of enemies... What should I do? Am I missing something? The description in the game page describes two attacks, but despite them I wasn't able to proceed :(

Overall, the core idea has a lot of potential, it just need some tuning on the difficulty level. Congrats for your first GWJ submission!

Developer(+1)

Yeah definitely needed a lot more tuning and more user friendly controls. I had my wife play a little before the submissions and realized i needed to tune it way down and that still wasn't enough. Thanks for playing! This has been a great experience and helped me learn a lot to move forward with!

Graphics are nice, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do or how to win in this game.

Developer

Yeah I'm missing out on a lot of explanation making it hard to get into and non intuitive controls. Thanks for playing!
