Very interesting take on the theme. The combination of real-time gameplay and grid-based movement felt very unique and definitely gave the survival-feel a fresh take. The parasites themselves are fairly horrifying in a good way too. Nicely done!
I'm happy to hear that you liked the parasites! I really enjoyed animating them. Mixing real time aspects into a grid based movement system ended up creating some interesting aspects to the game, I'm pretty sure that when avoiding projectiles it's almost always best to move diagonally due to you moving 135 pixels instead of 96 in the same amount of time as a horizontal or vertical movement would take
Fun game, didn't realize at first I could pick up the parasite attacks leftovers. Would be nice if there was a visual or audio cue for that. I was going so fast in the end!
I wanted to add something like a tutorial when the game first launches but I ended up running out of time, I'm glad you thought it was fun! :)
Ran fine for me on Linux, although there wasn’t any audio, not sure if that was expected or not.
I liked the creepy visual style of this and particularly the unusual health meter and spider-like enemies that moved around. Pretty basic, but it sounds like you learned a lot, so nice work!
I'm glad it runs on Linux, unfortunately I didn't end up adding sound to the game. Hopefully next time!
I'm happy you liked the visuals! I definitly learned a lot for next time, thank you :)
Can't get this to run on Mac I'm afraid!
Sorry, I don't have an Apple development ID and wasn't sure if I exported it right otherwise. I'm not able to reupload the game until voting is over either
No worries, just hoping to play and rate as many as possible
