I won! Awesome art. Really loved the art of the main character and the boss. The boss music was great too. Camera was a bit glitchy, but I was still able to make it through. Nice job!

Cool little game, but I also ran into the camera issues on the first level. Overall though you did a nice job, I like the art and animations of the parasite. One thing I might suggest to make the combat feel smoother, is allow the player to move while attacking. The fact that you're locked in place during attack animations locks you into either maneuvering or attacking, but a lot of times it's beneficial to do both.
Great job!
Cool game. I made it to the end. I felt like the melee attack was too strong. I was able to just stand still and spam attack to win every fight. The 2D Art looks nice, the sound was good too. I had no issues with controls or accessibility. I feel the theme might be a bit lose even if the story is about it, but it could be every other theme too. I usually like if the mechanic is a bit tight to the theme, but that is my subjective view on it. Good job on this and great team effort!
Thank you, we had a plan to make just a small 2D pixel game to finish something, so difficulty wasn't really on the mind, we just wanted something small yet pretty fun with a good art style, we might work on it in the future when we have time or are not competing in jams, and we can make it bigger and add more stuff to it. Thank you for your thoughts :).
I was able to work through the camera issues due to the comments below, and in the end it was pretty fun. I was unclear on whether it was possible to damage/kill the green enemies but I was able to just run away from them so that worked out.
The boss fight was a nice touch and I enjoyed the music there.
Despite the bugginess and simplicity it was still enjoyable. Nice job!
Your game looks really neat and I want to play through it but the camera is getting stuck in the area where the screen shake happens near the beginning. Not sure if this issue is specific to me.
Very nice game, I liked the art style and parallax background. The brain boss fight was quite interesting.
This game was made by a splinter of my own team. Despite my own lack of participation, I've been asked to look at it.
First, I want to talk about audio, as I noticed a couple of things: 1, there was audio clipping which I noticed in the menu music. While I have heard a complete style of audio, these small errors mar the quality of the game overall. 2, the options menu did not affect the volume of sound. If I remember Pablo talking to me about it, you can modify audio buses via code to change their volume property (and a 0 just means to mute, since you can't achieve true 0 with decibels).
In the world of art, I will commend the person responsible for having a complete art style, animations and all. You've done your duty, no more and no less.
I see you have gone with a souls-like melee style as opposed to a swift style. It's different than the usual for a 2D isometric dungeon crawler, not necessarily better or worse.
The ranged attack is very weak, but does work. It just requires some rebalancing, I think it takes 5 hits to match 1 melee.
Every idea is a wager, and every submission is a committed wager. A shallow wager like this serves to help with the learning process for everybody and help them develop their skills, and in the end, that's what this particular jam is all about: learning.
