This was cool! As you said it's unfinished, but you were able to get a lot done! I like the art and presentation, the little blood particles that pop up when you kill enemies is a nice touch.

Like others have said the camera is definitely too zoomed in lol. I think if you're worried about the void being visible you can probably just cover those empty spots with more of your wall tiles, that might be a better solution.

Developer

Thanks for the criticism. I just realized that I never updated this build of the game. I did change the zoom of the camera as shown in the screenshots but I never reuploaded that build.

Thanks for playing my game!

The game was quite challenging, especially with the camera being so close. Coupled with the absence of background and the fast movement of the platforms, it was hard sometime to visualise movements. I was able to go pretty far, but was stopped by a monster that took me by surprise!

It still was enjoyable. 2D platformers are hard to make right, and the physics here is at least pretty efficient. I'm sure that with respawn or some checkpoints, I could have managed to reach the end!

Also I found some kind of dash on the shift key? Not sure how it's supposed to work, but it somehow helped me pass a larger jump at some point. ^^

Developer

Yes there is a Dash but I realized that I didnt mention it in the game page, My bad :(

I implemented it but I never fully implemented it. It can only be activated when the character is neutral, as in no left or right key is being pressed. I wanted it to be that way but I kinda didnt bother so I never used it that much. Will update it to be that way in the future. In regards to the camera, I did update it in Godot but I didnt export it/Upload the updated build of the game.  I forgor 💀

Thanks for playing my game!

i liked the character design and animation! the camera could definitely be zoomed out more or be less fast paced

Developer

I updated it as seen in the screenshots but I forgot to export and upload the updated build. My bad :(

Thanks for playing my game!

Congrats on your first entry to the GWJ! The gameplay was quite nice! The movement and attack felt pretty good. I do think the camera was a little to zoomed in.  The music was really nice! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing my game. Actually I zoomed in the camera to hide the blank void that can be seen in some instances lol

I know the game has a lot of incomplete parts, but it has a really nice vibe. The gameplay is simple and relaxing. The art and music came together pretty well too. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for playing my game, I really Appreciate it :D
