This game was pretty fun. The mechanics you created are simple but work very well together. It was very fun trying to avoid the ghost and moving strategically to not touch him, but also minimize the use of the axe. And a great use of the theme.

I appreciate the forgiveness you do give us, like how we can move in between diagonal vines, and that the ghost hitbox is just a little small so that I can weave past him.

The growing mechanic of the leaves naturally leads to  harder and harder difficulty, and the requirement for more planning of my movement, which is very good.

Overall, a solid entry. Good job!

Great attention to detail! Thanks so much for the helpful comment, glad you enjoyed it

I had a lot of fun playing this! After my first playthrough I thought that the stones were pretty useless/underpowered and the same thing about the axe, and didn't see much point in them. I thought the best strategy was to just focus apples and axe when I needed to. Then, I tried to tame the uncontrollable forest.

Sadly, this was taken moments before disaster as the ghost popped out of a bush and killed me.  The camouflaged wildcard was used really well here too, as I lost track of the ghost a bunch and found myself running for my life. Good job, I really liked this game!

Haha nice one I think you found an overpowered strategy there! Might have to make the stones deteriorate over time, only slowly though. Glad the ghost punished you for these antics though!

It took for me also a while to realize the potato is a stone :) the controlls (x and c)  are a bit unintuitiv.

But anyways good job

Developer

ok thanks, will need to change that art, clearly. You can remap the controls before you start playing if that helps. What would have been more intuitive to you,  out of interest?

Maybe something like:

Movement: W/A/S/D
Attack/ (Axe): Space
Stone: Control

What also could be helpful if there were some indicator/inventar to show if you have a stone/appel picked up.

Developer

Yes good ideas, thanks!

I like this game, there is a nice learning curve and some strategy. It took me a bit to realize that it was a stone and not a potato :).

potato!  XD that is amazing feedback thanks very much, maybe I should have made it more jagged around the edges. Now that you say it I can definitely see it as a potato, whoops. Glad you enjoyed the strategy of the game though
