Pretty good but I felt a little too much sliding.

I don't know if it is wanted but you can keep going without killing the enemies (which I liked, it felt a bit like stealth game) and the big enemy at the end is so tall that he can't even hurt you if you are on the same floor.

sfx and vfx are good too!

Really challenging! I'm really bad at using the keyboard for platformers so having a controller option would be nice. The Z key being jump really made it difficult to play very far.  I really liked the customization at the beginning and I did like the feel of running and jumping. Music fit the game and I liked the graphical effects (laser, bullets, electricity). Definitely looked pretty polished.  Nice entry!

The customization is such a nice touch. When I had a powerful jump the laser was no issue, but some of the baddies turned me into a tombstone, heh. Sounds great, plays well too. Nice work.

Instant fun to play, i like the stats customization where you can experiment a bit each time, the spritework is very good, i like how well these are animated for such small sprites, considering the gameplay it makes sense but i really dig that NES style tune you got, it feels like something straight out of classic megaman ^^ i also like the fact that enemies are staggered by shots and that you can cancel out each other's projectiles.

Only negative things i'd say are, the sections where you have to climb up the laser zones (like the one on the entry's screenshot for example) are a bit tedious since sometimes some of the blocks are a bit close with not that much headroom to jump, and also the laser pits where if you mess up you're done you can only restart. The last tiny issue, the character seems to have his animation freak out a bit when you run close to a wall.

Other than that, it's pretty good and super fun.

So congrats you did great there :)

Nice concept, and fun to play. I think the controls are a bit slippery but it's a personnal taste. I fall in one of the "laser pit" and had no other option to wait for death, an "escape corridor" to the left could avoid it. But maybe you want a more hardcore "die and retry" kind of game?

Surprisingly fun to play around with all the different options.  My only complaint is that it's quite weird to play on an european keyboard(maybe an option to set keybindings).Apart from that, good job^^

Developer

thanks! Sorry about the keyboard... stitch a simple thing to do but it never crossed my mind in this jam. Glad you like the replayability you get each time you die.

Fun game! Liked how each time you got to set the level of each skill. Made each time playing feel different.

Developer

Thanks! The idea is that you can beat it with all stats on minimum (very hard) but you can also try to find the perfect balance for you and switch it everytime you die.
