Hi,
are the 2D and 3D games combined in the final voting in Go Godot Jam 2? I remember they were separated in the first Go Godot Jam. Is this where the Technical-rating comes in as 3D games mostly take more time to optimize and polish?

Hi!

This time around we are putting everything together for 2 reasons:

  • it’s not possible to vote on winners for diff categories on itch
  • we are offering prizes and there will be only 3 winners

As for the technical rating, it’s a generic one. It’s not particular for 3D

Cool, that is good to know. Add a few t-shirts to the prize pool and I'm all in.
Well... I guess I'm all in regardless ;)

It can be difficult to judge games in different genres, including 2d vs 3d.

A horror game  just can't be put side-by-side to a board game with any coherent concept of saying one is 'better' or 'worse'

But by voting for each in the same categories we have listed (Art, Design, etc.) we can put them all on a level field, including 2d vs 3d.

The big question is does the game use 2d/3d graphics effectively rather than which style it uses.
