How does your submission match the theme?
The core light mechanic presented in the game generates the effect of not only showing the path ahead for platforming or foes, but also stunning enemies. This has a payoff of exposing yourself to the enemy, which creates a more dynamic reactive gameplay.
NOTE: if the game slows down, push T to toggle the shader effect. It'll boost the performance a little bit.
You need a dedicated graphics card to play the game for now. Else it'll run the error "Could not create canvas". I'm already working on this issue. Thanks!

The game was directly developed by Rafael Giordanno (code), Markus Ranki (art) and Dan Larkin (sound design). Indirect developers would include the team working on LÖVE2D and the github user tanema for hosting the Lights vs Shadows tool
