How does your game fit the theme?
A Dungeon-Crawler where stats and enemies are decided by dicerolls! And your loot. And your character is a die. So are the enemies. Oh, did we mention the torches are dice, too?

A fantastic looking game and I love the commitment to the theme!

Rolling the dice with the attack is nice, but it feels like the theme works against you sometimes with the enemy spawns (sometimes too close) and the stats. I wonder if you could unrandomize the enemy numbers and give the player a risk management choice of deciding if they want to fight more for a chance to roll another dice or deciding if they want to bail out to the next level earlier. Not sure

Great job!

Thank you alot! Ye the random enemy spawn was longer in the discussion, we decided for it simply because we thought it is funny :D but gameplay wise it may not be the best decision, that is probably true, thanks for the feedback!

Hey, thanks for checking out the game.

Actually, that's exactly what happens! Rolling the dice in the preparation room spawns enemies according to the number of eyes rolled. So the player can decide if he wants to roll the dice and risk fighting more enemies or if he would rather play it safe.

The lighting is very nice, and the environments look really good. I almost thought it was an unreal engine game.

I think the combat is too easy and needs more oomph. Having the dice rolls dictate how many enemies will spawn in the next room in my opinion doesn't make the game more fun. In the future, I would suggest make more enemy types and have the dice dictate which enemies will appear in the next room.

Hey! Thanks for checking out the game.

We thought about adding more enemies, but Unity gave us a lot of trouble on the first day, so we decided to instead focus on first impressions. You're quite right, though. More enemy types would've been cool!

What would you suggest we should have done differently in terms of combat?

I have to admit; I don't remember everything about the combat since last time I played.

  • Never underestimate sound effects. They make the game come to life.
  • Make impact frames so that people get feedback when they hit or don't hit something.
  • Have the combat interact with the environment.  Blood splatter, screen shake, etc.

Gameplay and functionality is always no. 1 priority, but is useless unless the player feels these things.

Nice graphics and implementation of the theme. One thing that I would remove or fix is that when you enter a room, it sometimes happens that you spawn in an enemy and get damage, so maybe when you enter a room there is a countdown before the room starts

Hey, thanks for checking out the game! Thanks for your suggestion. That's something we should have thought of, haha.
