Really fun Game, I enjoyd This the most from the Jam.
only problem in the beginning i scrolled down and didn´t noticed ,
and i couldn't use the material fabric.
Felt to me like, it kind of didn't matter were to place wich die, even if some brought less resources, I could still just roll twice and not really lose anything. I kind of just placed dies randomly and upgraded random stuff. maybe I missed something else I could have done, because I might have missed some of the tutorial (in 4K its super tiny)
Thanks for the feedback NellyFlo. I definitely did all of the balancing in the last 4 hours, and at one point you could win the game by just hitting "Roll" until the end. I also need to look into UI scaling, I always forget that not everyone uses a 1080p monitor!
I feel you. Balancing is definitely the thing everybody has not enough time for. And I still don't get why UI scaling isn't on by default.
I don't think spending time in a game jam for different resolutions is worth it. I might have accidental published my game with a 4K camera and its just getting down sampled xD
Ps: Oh I remember that I also disliked not being able to drag dice directly onto building, but had to hold them above, so there line underneath would hit it. Seemed a bit counter intuitive and much slower to have align them.
dammmnn this looks amazing.
Damn. Man! Your game looks great! That was a nice entry! Props to you man! 💫
Great game!
Yay victory!! I've gathered enough Dark Magic to achieve Lichdom!!
I really enjoyed the concept here! I could definitely see something like this being built into a much larger game. It was becoming more strategic trying to think where best to place my dice in order to maximize the resources I needed at the time. Also being able to upgrade the dice was cool too, though it took me a moment to realized what Pip did (and I still don't understand what Pip stand for, I could have just missed the tutorial message though). The only slight annoying thing is that a few times a turn my dice landed outside the fort and rolled off into the distance to be unused, but it only happened a few times and I was still able to become a Lich.
Again great concept and I would love to see it built into an even bigger game!!
Thank SwornCoyote! There are a couple of small bugs (like dice rolling out of bounds) that I'd like to fix for a post-jam version, I'm glad you enjoyed the game as it is. Pip refers to the numbers on the faces of a die, so upgrading +3 pips means randomly selecting 3 faces of the die and increasing its number by one. I think it may be better to use the word "power" or something else, but I was trying to lean into the dice theme :-)
