Just played it! :) Here are miscellaneous comments.

  1. I see on the game page that you put a conscientious story; it is nice to have some coherent context/story that comes with a game.
  2. The graphics are varied, neat and have their own personal style. (I guess you were at an advantage there since you are a team with partial specialties, but anyway!)
  3. Enemy types, especially Asian girls with red umbrellas: somehow reminds me of Streets of Rage. X)
  4. I like the very tactical idea that you have to pass a die under the umbrella and then throw it!
  5. I see a huge gameplay problem: it is way too easy to generate a lot of dice and then wait for enemies to run into them… There should definitely be some limiting mechanic, so that the player gets in danger.
  6. As for the use of the theme, I feel you used it for the narration and setting, which is fine and welcome, but gameplay-wise, I would have expected it to be taken advantage of, and I do not think this is the case here. Although other people might not ask for it, but I crave originality and I think this is the spirit of this game jam as stated on the official page (and this is even an actual assessment criterion!).

This is some kind of beat ’em all where you play a machine; that’s interesting, but the gameplay needs some tweaking, and it would have been good to have theme-oriented originality, possibly in the ways you defeat the enemies (the idea for defeating umbrella-carriers was a good one).

(Answering both of you at the same time)
Oh, I had no idea this was your first (48 h) one! :o It must be interesting to experiment working as a team under such time pressure; as a loner, I haven’t experienced it. (As an overvalued author wrote, Hell is other people. ;))

By the way, rereading myself, I realize I may have been a bit harsh saying ‘huge gameplay problem’, because although it does have a big influence on playing, it should be easy to fix, and it slept my mind a bit this time that the games here should be viewed as prototypes. I’m glad you didn’t take it the wrong way. :)

Thank you for the valuable feedback! It's our first 48 hour game jam and it has been a valuable experience for us the developers, despite the bumpy road. We're glad you enjoyed our game! :D

You can actually build a pyramid of dice and just hold the fort like that 🙂

this was our first 48h jam so we had some trouble trying to scope our project. During our development, we found out about how the player could stack a bunch of dice and hold the line. One idea we wanted to do but couldn't because of time was to have an enemy who would throw stuff from afar.  also btw thanks for commenting we love to get people's thoughts on the game
