The aesthetic and atmosphere are really cool in this game! I like the sense of scale you were going for as well as the “ethereal” feel. Nice to see a tutorial as well, most game jam games don’t have that.
The actual gameplay didn’t really work for me. The random generation isn’t great at making fun levels, and there wasn’t too much platforming to be done other than navigating through the maze to the end. The game was also really laggy (I think because of all the cubes) and it was hard to tell what was happening most of the time :(
Good work overall!
the lag probably had something to do with your gpu, it uses gpu instancing. It's kinda on me though, i should of optimized it further.
The art style greatly enforces the game's atmosphere and I feel like I'm playing in a fleshed-out, cohesive world. However, it was difficult to see in the game world and the 3D was a little laggy. Great product overall though, especially in making a 3D game in four days!
it was most likely laggy because of the gpu instancing, it only runs smoothly after its already generated the world and the gpu must be able to store the world that was generated
Very moody! Nice take on the theme! Congrats!
thank
The game has a great environment and an interesting concept. However, the lighting can sometimes be overexposed, making it difficult to see where you're going. I believe a few adjustments could fix this issue. Additionally, there's a minor typo on the 'reattempt' button. Lastly, there's a small bug: you can't rotate the camera unless you click. Overall, it's engaging and I'd like to see this art style in more games.
Thanks for the information, i tried to do like a fade away when you die which makes it look very overexposed, i also forgot to turn off auto exposure. The camera thing instant a bug, that's just the way unreal engine games run
Environment is great, its dreamlike and unusual. It pushes to explore the world, but in a slow meditative way. Such gameplay would be better.
