Very charming. Of all the interpretations of this idea yours is one of the best in my books.

Developer

Thanks!

Nice one!

I like the simplistic look, sounds good aswell - overall the atmosphere is set nicely, and the theme implementation is clear. Well done :)

Thanks for giving the game a shot!

Pretty interesting, a bit sad that in some levels you get practically insta killed if you don't move straight at the start but still got me wanting to beat levels

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

Cool style! Also nice concept, the difficulty scaled nicely! Congratulation for making this!

Developer

Thanks!

it's pretty interesting concept that you kinda also have to run away from the red rectangle thingy, though i wish it starts moving a little bit later. Quite many times I died before even starting to move around.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked the concept. Delaying the red rectangle’s start would actually slow it down, though, so it’s a bit of a trade-off. Appreciate you pointing it out!

I found the controls more frustrating then fun. Personally, I didn't care much for the time limit, since it mostly meant dying because I didn't immediately understand the ins and outs of the system. Maybe introduce it a bit later, when the player is more familiar with the controls.

I appreciate your feedback. I should have focused on improving the controls during the jam, but time constraints were tight. It's nearly impossible to create a perfect game under such pressure. Nonetheless, I apologize for the frustration.

Really great! I think the biggest win here is the sound design, super crips, and relevance to the situation. The music is also a bop. The whole game has an atmosphere of almost "You aren't supposed to be here" and I really like that. I felt like a game journalist for a second with the wall jump but I figured it out lol. Really great job, super impressive.

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m thrilled you enjoyed the sound design and music, my teammate nailed it with those. the "you aren’t supposed to be here" vibe was exactly what we were aiming for. Glad you found the game impressive!

I really like the partial effects and the timer. It made it a lot more engaging and felt more satisfying to switch sizes.

Developer

Thank you! I felt the same way while testing the game, it made the size-switching mechanic satisfying.

This game feels very alive in audio and graphics, I love all the little sound effects and can tell there was good time spent on them. In my opinion, some of them were a tad bit too loud and could benefit from some pitch  and volume randomization, but they contributed well to the overall feel of the game.

My main critique of the game is the controls. I found it very frustrating to try and stop in time because of the very low friction. This made jumping on the leaves very difficult and even more frustrating when I had something chasing me. I did like the wall jumping though, it was very intuitive  which is something platformers tend to mess up on. I think if you increased friction after the player stops pressing the controls, that would help them feel more responsive and easier to control.

Overall, great start for a jam game, the size changing mechanic was fun and the style was engaging. After a bit of polish and play testing, I could see this game being very enjoyable to work through. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! I'm happy you enjoyed the audio and visuals (my teammate did an amazing job with the music and SFX). I appreciate your suggestions about the sound levels and controls.
