I really like the idea, but I think it would be useful that you could control the sliders with arrow keys and still move with WASD, and you could make even more challenges like that... but other than that, the game is very simple and fun

Thx for playing!

Neat game idea, I had a good time trying to fine-tune my settings to make the jumps as easy as possible. That square can CRUISE on max speed, haha! Thoughtful of you to add lots of checkpoints. I might even recommend adding MORE checkpoints. I've noticed that many game jam games are way too hard and that just results in nobody playing them to completion. Yours is already way better at checkpoints and difficulty than most 48-hour games, but going even further is just my two cents. It's also impressive that this game is only 5 mb, my hard drive is very happy about that. Good job!

thanks so much, btw if you make it to the end, there’s just a big space where you can zoom around :)

Player-controlled variables in a game like this is an interesting idea. One particular section was getting frustrating with a bunch of narrow jumps between spikes, so I just cranked the player speed to max and jumped through all of them in one go. That was fun. Haha

Physics felt a little wonky, with how you'd stick to walls and they would kill your vertical momentum. Also, I got used to it partway through, but it would feel a lot better to play if you could adjust the variables with keyboard inputs.

Criticisms aside, I definitely enjoyed it and refused to put it down until I reached the end. Finished with 68 deaths. :)

Thanks so much for your feedback! I didn’t expect anyone to finish it :)

Great game, the visual style is really well executed and some the jumps are really challenging in a fun way but the gimmick gets boring eventually. Maybe in the future consider changing up the main mechanic partway through the game, like making a zone where you can't edit the variables so you have to pick some physics and stick with them. Just a thought

It was quite fun, however the game had strange difficulty curves and there was a bit too much tweaking the variables involved.

Developer

thx :)

Which game was reversed? The control concept is unique. It's just that dragging the mouse is cumbersome. Maybe the Q and E keys could be used to adjust gravity instead.

Developer

Hi, thanks for your comment.  If you're referring to the concept of switching up a classic game, that isn't the only way to adhere to the theme. The concept behind my game is that the roles of player and developer are reversed, allowing the player to act as the developer and manipulate variables.

I understand the meaning behind the game's name now. It really fits the theme well.
