The game doesn't load in the browser 😢 Unfortunately I'm not on Windows... Do you know what can I do to make it launch in the browser?
A neat idea! Sadly there wasn't anyone online at the same time as me so I didn't get to try multiplayer, but I had some fun flopping around by myself. Some notes:
- Like others said, the web build didn't work.
- As I picked up more pieces, I started to slow down, which makes sense. However, once I got about 60 pieces I suddenly started moving SUPER FAST. Not sure why.
- Beyond 60 pieces the framerate starts to become really choppy.
Hey. I've managed to download your game. Browser build seems to be broken, unfortunately.
Anyway, I like the concept of your game. I just wish there were a goal in it, apart from moving around and joining parts together. It would be cool if the player had to fight other enemies, which also are joining parts to their bodies. Maybe there are , but I didn't meet any.
Hi, thank you for your review.
I truly appreciate it.
The game has been thought to be multiplayer but unfortunately there are not enough players to experience a Real battle.
The battle system is that players capture parts of each others following a few rules :
- Heads can capture any body
- For the case of Heads vs Heads or Bodies vs Bodies, the taller player captures the more little player's parts.
And eventually, I have seen that those implementations are not well working anyway but has the jam submissions delay has passed, I am working around to make any relevant corrections very soon after the jam ends.
Also, I'm planning to soon write a devlog to show how the development happened and the challenges I faced when developing Joints.io.
Thank you again.
I think it is too risky developing a multiplayer game for a game jam. I guess you could have tried to implement some king of basic enemy AI to emulate multiplayer, like it is done in some .io games - it could generate random nicknames, so the player wouldn't feel lonely )
Anyway, nice try and I think that if you keep up your work on a good battle system this game has potential.
Didn't manage to launch the web build :/ The PC build seems to work fine but I was alone on the server, so not really fun.
