That's a really fun and unique art style, shame you couldn't get the sound to work in time. The varied fonts were a really nice touch and clever way of sprucing up the dialog. Also, I'm not sure if I missed mechanics or if the game's more intended to be a narrative experience? In any case, I'm very much looking forward to playing this after the jam.

Thanks for playing our game! We appreciate the feedback. We had more mechanics planned besides the narrative experience, but we had to narrow down our focus due to the time limit. If we have time, we're thinking about creating a second game that continues the narrative for another game jam since the main mechanics are exactly what we were planning to develop for this game jam.
I'll try to finish the other mechanics for this version of the game right after the voting period.

Thank you for playing our game! Our music composer created tracks and sounds, but we ran out of time to add it in. We'll be adding the music after the voting period is over.

Unfortunately, I am unable to play this game.  I click on Controls and nothing happens, so I click on Start and the next screen shows some narrative but won't proceed and I see a Start Performance button top right corner which then shows the performance. I am not sure what am I supposed to do here. Please give me more information on what I need to do.

Now, first off getting into the game might be tricky for some. I discarded the game quickly since it felt like there was nothing to do. Reading the game page and learning the controls helped out though, and got me to the actual game.

I DO like:

  • The overall quirkyness of the game.
  • The different fonts for the different characters.
  • The character designs themselves.

I dislike:

  • The animation frame rate can be very exhausting to the eyes.
  • The control scheme, especially the click to talk, seems highly confusing.
  • The game had no sound nor music, which a game about jazz could really need.

Thanks for the feedback. We actually had music made, but unfortunately ran out of time to add into the game. We'll be updating the game after the game jam voting period is over if you're interested in playing a more polished version.
