Nice submission! Making a 3D game for a game jam is definitely not easy, and I'd say with a bit more time you can clean make this a pretty fun shooter. Based on the other comments I read, you already have the overwhelming enemy spawn on your radar. Other than that, I'd recommend having a more clear indication that joining with the souls gives you boosts, because I did not realize that was the case until reading the comments. Good luck with future updates and future games!

Thanks, @PeaQueueAre for your constructive comment! It is really appreciated!

We are hoping to put more time and effort into that prototype during the next month to at least make it playable and fun.

We learn a lot in these 2 days and we have marked down many notes to improve ourselves for our second Jam!

Liked the game but my potato PC couldnt run the game at a decent FPS to enjoy the game and understand it fully.... 10/10 tho coz the problem is on my side :D

Developer

Thank you @Blackrapid!

We will take into consideration of lower specs PC for the next Jam.

Congrats getting out as much as you guys did despite the bugs!! The visuals are impressive to say the least, and I'm curious what effects the different colored ghosts would have had on the player!

Developer

Hey @Joylychi, thanks for your comment!

For the coloured ghosts, they actually give you a boost, but not that clear.

In the post Jam update, we will address that.

I did like the music and the enemy models! The gameplay however feels very lackluster and doesn't fit the theme in my eyes :/

Developer

Hi Mesaying, Thanks for your comment.

With the gameplay missing many parts I can see why it is hard to see the Theme.

The theme here is: A Malice has corrupted the people.  You need to liberate the people's souls to then join their power (Fire Rate, Speed Boost, Damage Boost...) to defeat the source of the corruption. That should spawn after some waves. However, the spawn manager decides to die 20 minutes before the end and here is the result.

We should be able to make something better next GameJam we do. This is only the beginning! One done, thousand to go!

Impressive work for 48 hours of development! Once I figured out how do kite the enemies around it was quite fun. It was a bit overwhelming to be dropped into a crowd of enemies at the start though; a wave system would be a good addition.

Developer

Hi Penguin3000... Thanks for your comment!

I do really agree with you... A wave system could be really good... well... it exists...

The spawner was supposed to be in, but a last-minute bug got us to just make a bunch of enemy spawn at the start ^^''

The game is pretty and the music is nice. The shooting animation is a bit hard to see if I shot, but that might've been the browser version.
A good suggestion would be to maybe make an enemy spawner, it feels like everything spawned at once with no chance to survive lol

Great job and congrats on finishing!

Thanks for the review! Very much appreciated :)

Browser version is less stable than the download indeed,

Its a little confusing at first but I like the animations on this game! Good Job :)

There's a lot that feels missing here. Camera angle is hard to control. I find myself turning 180 a lot more than I want to. It's hard to aim. I like the models. It looks pretty. The music fits nicely.

Developer (1 edit)

Hi! Did you try the web version or the download? Web-version is known to take a good 20 seconds to load correctly and then the camera move is normal and not hard. Thanks for the review :)

I was in the browser version. I was definitely on for more than loading time though. I tried once regularly, and I tried once to kill the big guy [because I was dared not to :) ]
