These cubes look really funny. Falling off the edge makes it kinda hectic, not sure if it's intentional or not.

I believe the punching mechanic could use some work as the enemies were damaging me while I was punching them. Also, seems like you can just avoid picking up power-ups, and I believe you don't want it as a developer: you want to make players adapt to the changes caused by these powerups IMO.

Overall, good job!

P. S. I dunno about malware thing, but at least there is a game. Itch app didn't show me any warning about it.

Developer

First of all, thank you for playing our game and giving your input on it!

Falling of the edge is intended, but maybe it happens too often as the map size is too small in later levels. Also, landing on the cube bounces the player off too much I think.
I agree that the punching mechanic needs tweaking based on the reasons you provided. We also planned to make ranged weapons, like a laser to burn eyes with, but didn't manage to in time.
You're also correct about the powerups. After clearing a wave/level you have the choice to pickup the powerup or continue without it (as it can either buff or nerf the player). We also had the option in mind you suggest: hand the player the powerup and he has to adapt. I agree this would have been better, also as it suits the out of control theme more.

Thank you for your thoughts on it!

Interesting entry, I was unable to get past the first level but I avoided the cubes for a very long time and didnt get many powerups. loved the music

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! A powerup will spawn after each wave/level, but you may not have seen the transition to a new level with the portal as it immediately spawns after clearing out all cube monsters in the center of the level. We definitely need to tweak a few things

Your game is the only one that the itch app identified as malware. While I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt, I don't want to install it on my machine. Is there a web version I can try?

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the interest in our game! I am sorry to hear that our game is being identified as malware, so I understand you would rather not install it for now. We experienced it ourselves as well (and with any UE4 game we previously have made). I will look into it and hopefully be able to fix it. Also, I will publish a web version when submitting is possible again if Unreal supports it.
