This is one of the best executions of "controls change every some time", but still don't really like it. Don't get me wrong, the game is nice, but there's something so punishing about it.

Punishment as always can be fixed with power ups. How about every time a key is changing You gain one something for example heal heart, give new heart resistance to some damage, being able to defeat some obstacles, bring back one key, etc?

thanks a lot :) I agree with you, maybe I will add a shield everytime u break a button (timed shield) or something :)

Clever idea! I like the mechanic of having to choose a new button for movement, and that's a great play on the Jam theme. Good job!

thanks a lot :) glad you enjoyed it :)

Interesting idea. Love the music and the art! The constantly changing keys makes it so I constantly have to readjust my hand position. Fun game!

Developer

thanks for the comment :) I am glad you enjoyed the game and the idea behind it :)

Congrats! Love the concept and the execution. I engaged a lot by putting together the best input strategy so I didn't get confused, in the end I always ended up getting confused haha. Great job, its a fun game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot :) Glad you enjoyed it :) I know, I was always worried that people would find optimal strategy easily like shifting WASD keys around but it end it is not easy :D

is really cleaver that you limit the inputs that the player could choose. first time the the screen popped out I immediately go for the arrows for my own frustration. hahahaha

The game looks and sounds good! Easy to understand mechanics along with a nice difficulty curve. The unicorns are terrifying. Great job guys! :D

Developer(+1)

it genuently  makes my day hearing people's screams of agony over the unicorns <3 thank you :3 Kind regards, my devilish self

"This game isn't so hard, I'm a genius."

<Unicorns show up>

"OH NO!"

Great job here. Love the slow burn of terror as your keyboard degrades. Very well done!

Developer(+2)

Glad you enjoyed it with the unicorn terror :D

I thought I could cheat by just selecting another WASD shaped set of keys but that immediately came back to haunt me when things broke and I started running out of options. I love the odd configurations you end up with. The rush of just barely evading something after frantically searching for the right key really got me. And it sounds and looks great to boot. Excellent job.

Developer(+2)

Haha thank you so much :') I know right, I remember my first attempt, it really is twister with your own fingers :') thanks for your kind comment

Developer(+1)

Yeah, at the beginning I was afraid that people would try to cheat their way in the game. But after adding enough levels, I found that it is possible at the beginning but it will haunt you later as the remaining keys around this type of configurations are really weird and you will have to have that twister feeling in your fingers. Thanks a lot about your feedback :)

Great take on the theme, I really enjoyed playing! Things got quite hectic once I started to run out of keys and was forced to start picking things across the keyboard. It's an interesting concept to have the difficulty of controlling the player scale in addition to the difficulty of the enemies. Great submission!

Just want to give a heads up that the game didn't run in Firefox for me (the music played but the screen was blank), I had to switch to Chrome.

Developer

Thank a lot, I should put a note about that :)

This game is super cool in aesthetics and really challenging. Great job getting us comfortable with wasd and taking it away from us !

Developer

haha that was intended :D to keep u on ur toes :D

Submitted(+2)

Wow, that was really clever and challenging. The later levels sure weren't easy!

Developer(+1)

hahaha, I know, you need to plan your key usage :D glad you still enjoyed it :)

Just when I was getting tired of "out of control because controls change," I come across this really clever approach.  It's like Twister for my fingers.  And the music & aesthetics give me big Monster Bash vibes, which I like.

Developer

glad that you enjoyed the idea of twister fingers :D

Too hard for me in level 3, but an amazing experience overall!

Developer

Yeah, glad you still enjoyed it even it is hard. sorry about that. We didn't have time to fix the game in time for the jam. Maybe I will do a post jam version.
