Really solid base, I've kind of found the melee attack to be the worse one. It's explosion radius didn't carry on with the animation (so it was just a single hit, and you had to time it right). Since enemies all have the same HP it felt less rewarding.
I think having the weapon switch randomly on timer would fit the theme better. Usually once you get the spread shot there is no need to press right click from what I've played.
Thanks for playing. I agree, as I was playtesting I could feel that all of those things needed some more development time. I overscoped myself again and didn't have time to tweak the mechanics.
This is nice! It could have used a few more touch ups, like an indicator for where an enemy would spawn, but overall, the theme was used well, and added a kind of "risk vs. reward" mentality while I played. Well done!
Thanks for playing.
Loved your choice in music :) Is one of the chaotic effects an instant death? :/
Thanks for playing. Instant death wasn't intended to be a chaotic effect, however it does give me ideas on some more mechanics like a countdown where you need to eliminate an enemy before it times out or suffer an instant death; something like the "Final Countdown" card in Yu-Gi-Oh.
The core gameplay isn't bad, but it kind of feels like the "out of control" element was just tacked-on, since I never really felt the need to use it and it always kind of felt within my control since I get to choose exactly when to use it.
Thanks for playing. I've gotten similar feedback on my previous Jam game. I guess I really need to try and let the Jam theme run more wild in my designs.
