Interesting idea! The music, sound effects, and overall theme felt nice and cohesive. The scanning mechanic was novel, but it did feel a bit flat - perhaps it would have been interesting to make individual ships easier/faster to scan to completion, and add an effect when that happens (like a laser blast from deep space, or something). Overall, well done!

Maybe if scanning did not stop your movement the game would feel a little better. I felt like I had to choose if I wanted to dodge the whole time or sit in a safe spot and scan the whole time.

Cool concept! I found the scanner move speed to be slow compared to enemy though, which in the end feels a little unsatisfying when playing, but over all, good stuff. :)

Due to a horrible oversight, you need to include this DLL file in the game's folder! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a0iceZh0WHJQwZKukYXfpiAjFdDcVMGk/view

Ah, I was wondering why it did not start when I ran it. Unfortunate that you didn't notice till it was too late.
