I love how chaotic the gameplay is, with the spells only increasing the amount of havoc going on. The visuals are really charming, and I like the 8-bitish (I'm not sure what the proper term to describe the music is) song to back everything up! It was fun seeing the little players and spells go flying around, and trying out the different spells. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much - really glad you enjoyed the chaos. I don't know what to call my music either, but I'll use 8-bitish from now on.

This is truely epic. With a little polish, but not so much that it looses it's charm this could blow up. Especially with online multiplayer etc. Really cool

Thank you so much - it's my first time taking part in anything like this, and it's made my day to see your comment. Thanks for the feedback on multiplayer too - that's a great idea. Best of luck with the rest of the jam

Very unique jam entry! I really liked the idea and how it isn't really like anything else I've played. The narrative was cute and just the right amount of vague and the gameplay was interesting. If the golems weren't so suicidal (and helped more than harmed) it would be more enjoyable because it felt like I had very little influence over the game - that being said, I did give it a good go because I found it quite fun anyway, particularly due to the variety of spells.

I would like it if the ball didn't go out of play and reset so much too, because it made it take a while to either win or lose, particularly because controlling the ball is so hard haha. Great job for a solo effort though, I really like it.

Fun little game well cone. good choice of music, the first track and the story made me a bit emotional and remember some of the old games I used to play as a kid.

well done

Thanks so much to everyone for the feedback - all good ideas, and just fun to be part of the jam.

Kind of like foosball but with wizards. Every game is better with wizards. Really fun to play, cool music, love it!

Hi Game Maker Bro!

So I know a lot of people have a problem with the GM installer, and your game's technically name "made with game maker" so probably just more confusing. I know in most GM jams people prefer the zip file with the exe to be uploaded. So no installing, just unzip, double click.

As for the game it was good stuff! The there things I will say is I felt like the atmosphere clashed a little bit. I was in a dark background, with this intense music... and I was playing foot ball with these dopey golems and I was summoning ladders.

The golem AI needs a bit more love. RNG seemed to be the main score maker as I would watch my golem move directly towards my goal pushing the ball along.

The Wave spell ofttimes clips on the opposing goal, making it impossible to score until it despawns. Probably not the intention.

Hi Ryan - sorry to hear you've had problems with it. I just had some friends try opening it to check it works on other windows devices that don't have Gamemaker, and the exe seems to work fine.

It creates a file called 'Made with Gamemaker' and there's a license agreement that pops up,  so I can see why that's confusing - I should maybe put a warning about it in the installation info.

But just to be clear, it's not installing Gamemaker - it is just the game, and that popup is just the usual permission stuff, so it should just install and open the game.

I also thought I'd clicked 'no' on the pre-prepared code section, but it's showing up as 'yes' so I guess I was in a hurry. Hope that's helpful, and thanks for downloading it.

Could not run. It just installed Game Maker Studio and wouldn't do anything else.
