@ Jupiter Hadley awesome video :D
Neat game. I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GBJam 5 games, if you'd like to take a look :)
@ Delca I am working on fixing the camera, I am going to keep the version I submitted as is. However I will be working on a version that will be updated and maintained with fixes and features such as proper camera work and feed back systems(sprite flash when hit, etc.).
You should try to fix the camera when fighting a boss, I was surprised by an off-screen giant ball of energy when fighting the big skull for the first time. Otherwise, it was ok to me.
@ cr0ss I totally forgot to put some sort of hit indicator in for the player, and the game over screen, I got them on my check list for the version 2.0 of the game that I am going to be working on
@ Lemth , Sorry I was having major issues getting the camera to lock into the boss room, I will work on a separate version of the game that will be more polished overall and will fix the camera and have less repetitive audio.
@ Dachshund ♥ Techno , Sorry that I didn't put something in the game to let you know that the holes in the ground wouldn't kill you
I missed some effect to see I was getting hit, and maybe some game over screen instead of being pushed suddenly to the beginning. But the game is entertaining and with a nice metroidvania feeling.
Oh man that boss is tough. The fact that he was offscreen for me (on the right side) made it even more difficult to see those big blasts coming.
Sound was way to repetitive had to turn it off. Other that that looks like a great start for a fun game!
I thought i was stuck until I saw the "Metroid inspired" bit in the text and decided to try jumping in the pit. The game really does have a Metroid feel to it. Real claustrophobic and unsettling.
