Cute game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GBJam 5 games, if you'd like to take a look :)

I really love the design of the ninja, i can see you turning this into a great game!

You already wrote that stuff like music is missing, but the idea, upgrades and character are neat. So good job.

A ninja themed, Fantasy Zone like game. Like it!

Beautiful sprites. I'm curious to seehow it will evolve (both in graphics and sound). Great work!

Thanks! I definitely agree. The background along with sound and music are things that didn't make it in. Those along with actual enemies and making the boss interesting are high on the list of things to do next.

Good sprite work. It felt kind of slow, I think it really needs a background to give 'context' to the movement and solve that. Keep on it

Yeah, I felt that way too. Because they were just the placeholders to test my mechanics, I never changed their health before compiling.

Thanks for the comment!

Not bad for your first jam. I like your concept. The menu was really well done too.

The basic enemies are kind of bullet sponges though, which isn't always the best in a scrolling shooter.

If you see this, thanks for checking out my submission! I wouldn't consider it complete by any means (I didn't get to add sound or music yet, and enemies don't do anything and also look just like you) but if you like this character and idea, please leave a comment to share your thoughts! I'll definitely be continuing development on this going forward.
