Day 3 devlog - Shields & Spawning An Asteroid Field

I put in a full day today. Tightened up the player movement, implemented a shields system for the ship health and then spent the rest of the day wrestling with trying to manage spawning of an asteroid field in a fake infinite space!

Nice work! 

I agree about getting the basic (mvp) foundation in and then anything else is a bonus. Just need to be careful not to blow up your project in the meantime (memories of gdtv 2021 and the night before submission flood back)

I totally understand that feeling of not having a lot done - I feel it too with my project so far but it's amazing how it feels when it all comes together. Fun stuff like sounds and things to shoot sure can help with that! Just don't make em bug ya too much :)

Yep I plan to get a fully working version of the basic asteroids part of the game uploaded to Itch so that if at least I do blow up the game trying to add the planet stuff, I still have a playable game! Hopefully I should have that tomorrow.
