Last year during the GameDev.Tv 2022, I was still only a game design student. I created the game 'Sorry Mummy' for my first Jam and was thrilled to know it got ranked 74th in Mechanics and 99th in Fun. Considering there were approximately 1000 games in the jam last year, being among the top 7-10% of the best games in the jam got me really excited.
Since the jam, I have continued my studies, focusing on Unity. I worked on one of my biggest project with two other colleagues, the game is "Wondering if Playable". This project was created for a college assignment and we received high praise from our professor, classmates, and an evaluation board.
Two months ago, I received a job offer as a Game Designer from a game company here in Brazil, where I live. I had a conversation with the recruiter and showcased my games, including 'Sorry Mummy' from the GameDev.Tv 2022 jam. I'm confident that this game helped me a lot in securing this job, and I believe that 'Binary Blaster' will perform even better in this jam, opening up even more opportunities for me in the game industry.
However, GameDev.Tv 2023 wasn't an easy game jam for me, I got covid on the 3rd day of the Jam and I'm very sick until today, but I couldn't not participate in this awesome Jam. Also, my computer's PSU died at the start of the Jam, so I literally had to go 5 days without working on the project waiting for a new PSU. I rushed to finish the project these last few days, but I still had to cut a lot of things for now but I still intend to add it in the next few days.
If you have some spare time, please try out Binary Blasters. It's a classic space shooter with a touch of the '80s.. Please leave your honest feedback :)
