Yeah, it really doesn't match the theme very much. I mostly thought that since the physics are surprising and hard to master, you'll die many times before being able to finish even a single stage.

You have to land upright and very gently.

It's a loose interpretation on the theme. Death is only the beginning gameplaywise because it's basically impossible to complete any level first try, you'll die first, many, many times.
