enjoyed playing this one! I like the art and the use of balanced lighting to set the mood for this detective/mystery game , the concept is interesting . Overall great game! congratulations ! keep it up!
Nice concept! I love murder mystery, detective stuff, and hunting for clues to reveal the whole story is always fun for me. I liked that you highlighted the things which can be searched, although perhaps that made it a bit too easy. Not sure if it was just me, but the camera consistently drifted to the right even when I wasn't moving, so I would recommend looking into that for any future updates/projects. Overall, though, good job! You can definitely take this prototype and expand it into a nice investigation game. :)
Nice, the search mechanic is cool - reminded me of Impossible Mission (the 1984 original game) - yes I'm that old. On my first run I didn't even need to visit the bedroom (PS the bed is missing a collider I think). On my second run I leapt from the window to speedrun to the oracle, heh.
Other comments: I realise your game theme kind of limits options for music but maybe some very low key music would be nice. The insect chirping sound was a bit too short to be looped - I'm pretty sure https://freesound.org would have some nice lengthy sounds you could use :)
Cheers,
Chris
Couldn't pass up a murder mystery game. The search mechanic is a good premise! If you continue building on this idea, adding some danger or a time limit (or both) could increase tension in a good way. Also, having the clues you find be small pieces of stories with random names, places, etc. could make the game feel more story-driven.
Unrelated: I accidentally figured out how to clip through one of the windows and skipped two of the keys. Just haven't figured out how to skip the blue key yet. :) Surprise alternate gameplay mode, haha
This is really nice beginning for some big game! Keep doing this! After few minutes the sounds is a little bit overwhelming but besides that good job!

Thanks for the feedback. I agree, the background sound is annoying - will need to come up with a better background ambience :).
I love a murder mystery, I think you've got the building blocks of a good game.
Its not obvious that the rectangles are keys. On my second play through I did try to go directly into the house instead of exploring around the outside and wasn't able to because I didn't have the key, but the first time I'd picked up all the keys before I got to the doors.
There's very little to search downstairs and nothing in the first room, I think for the player its nice to give them an easy win early on - and introduce the searching mechanic, although I see that the game is random. Both times I played, most of the clues were in the bedroom.
The first time I was killed by the cable guy, with a rock in the kitchen (although I note that the house doesn't have a kitchen haha)
The second time I was killed in the bedroom, with a fireplace poker, by a ninja!
For me, I thought the look speed was a little fast
Thanks for the fantastic feedback - very detailed and very helpful. As a result of your feedback, I made a few changes. Keys look like keys now and the search mechanism works a little better (still random though :)). Didn't have kitchen assets - probably should have removed that clue :).
I kept clipping in and out of walls, i even fell through the 2nd floor wall to the outside.
I can see it has lot of potential after polish.
Thankyou for the feedback. Turns out some of the walls didn't have colliders - doh! This has now been fixed in my latest upload.
cool! i shall give it a replay ^w^
You changed the models of the keys! And no more clipping through walls! Congrats ^w^
I almost choked laughing when it said that I was killed by Joey with a pepper mill in the attic XD,
A pepper mill!!! AAHAHHAHA
