I'm an old and I'm low agreeableness to where I am famous for half-reading the instructions of anything: so I will leave a time capsule for future other people rating: CLICK the dude or nothing happens other than you walking around and thinking "I'm too stupid to successfully grab things in the countryside". You get your objects -at- the platform. By clicking the NPC. That said I am fond of low poly ever since waiting for the sequel to Flight Sim Toolkit that never happened in the late 90's.
It's mediumish at least difficulty to correctly stack things :) Hence the designer patiently pointed out you can rotate stuff.
Anyway this looks like a super game of this type, so that's on me for my personality type not the game's issue :)

I managed to stack like 4-5 items before accidentally clipping through the floor and falling off the map haha. I was determined to at least get a decent stack going. Also I love the random burp sound in the background.
