Wow, this game is great! The dash reminds me of a magic item in Shovel Knight which allows you to dash mid-air to break blocks. Honestly this was pretty darn good. Great job!
Amazing game, I'm so impressed with what you've done in just a week!
It's beautiful, it's an art style that I personally love. The gameplay is also amazing, it reminds me of some old games.
Really nice homage to the Virtual boy. The art and the gameplay made an awesome game and I had a nice time finishing it!
Original concept!
That was awesome!! Very impressive game with multiple fun levels and a multi-stage boss fight!! I like how the game is rather forgiving and easy. It was just a joy to play. I died a few times on the boss, but the game let me keep playing right where I died instead of having to restart from the beginning. I liked that. For simple platformers, sometimes just providing an enjoyable and polished experience is enough; it doesn't have to be Dark Souls level difficulty. The levels were well crafted and had a few challenging segments. Other than a few missed jumps, I breezed through this game, but had a blast! Love the music you chose and the sound effects. The artwork is quite nice as well. Love the sounds for the big coins and footsteps the most. Awesome job!
Dang that fish looks wacky. This has a very sweet retro vibe to it. Great job on the music - hearing distinct themes for each area was a really nice touch. The platforming is pretty solid and pairs well with the design of the character. The dash sometimes felt like it didn't respond to the correct direction of input, but it didn't get in the way of gameplay too much. Also like someone else said, it was a little unclear that you have to press Enter to proceed through the opening. Altogether this was super fun to play - thank you!
I got the title screen and nothing else. tried hitting several keys and the mouse and the game never budged
Sorry
EDIT:
I must have missed the ENTER key.
Game is excellent. I'm not a Mario style player but the game is clean and works well
Thats okay, you could make sure that the game is focused and try hitting Enter as that's the most common key you can use to advance menus. Thanks for trying though :)
This game feels fun to play! I liked how you included a cutscene in the beginning. You did a good job with the music as well. It all works together to give that retro vibe throughout.
