Hi, I'm one of the streamers / game dev of Feedback Quest 7. I downloaded the game demo from Steam, and started it up (before my stream to test it), but all I see is a grey screen. I can hear the music playing, and when I turn on the Steam Overlay, I seem to be able to see the title screen behind it (or at least the title). But once the Steam overlay is off, it's back to grey-only.
If you release a new version before the end of the jam, please let me know and I'll see if I can schedule it into another stream!
Hey, thanks for the message! Wow, Steams stats show that almost 1k people already played the demo with the average of 20min playtime, and nobody has informed me that the game doesn't work. Maybe some soft/firewall etc is blocking the game on your PC? As you reporting this problem for the first time, I can't imagine what could be wrong, maybe some very specific software/PC config?
I have 2 monitors, so maybe somehow that messes something up? I haven't had this issue with any other games though, whether through Steam or downloaded from Itch.io
Could be the case. Maybe very high screen resolution and old PC processor?
hmm I have a radeon 6900 xt from about 2 years ago, but my screen resolution is 1920x1080 at 30fps
Thank you for the information. Can't see the problem here. 1920 is very common, radeon 6900 also. Game by default also runs on 30fps. Should be something dual monitors or some software blocking problem.
Anyway, thanks for taking time and reporting it to me. At least I would know the problem may occur. If somebody will report something similar in the future, at least I will have some data.
Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 7! My name's Hythrain and I'm one of the hosts and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!
So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.
I was surprised with this. As just a game where you learn about people and then punish or reward them, it's a basic concept. Yet it's done in an interesting way. I loved how Satan just texts you and you have conversations with them. It doesn't even seem to imply this idea of good and evil between the two of them, just two dudes who work together and are friends in a weird way. Why else would Satan troll him with the bad link?I'm actually a big fan of this. However, can there be more moments like the atheist? Like maybe involve other religious deities and sometimes you can choose to make THEM seem like they exist?
No other notes, amazing game. :D
Hey! First of all - thank you for the nice words about this game! It always motivates me to make the game better. About other religious deities - well, I added them to Kitter, they are liking posts etc. Don't want to make this game too religious and trying not to cross the lines not to hurt religious people feelings. Its only about religion from popculture perspective.
Thanks for playing! P.S. tried to look for the vod in your twitch/youtube profiles, but had no luck finding it : /
Here is a link to the VOD.
As for your note about not hurting people's feelings in regards to religion... the people who will get upset will get upset regardless.
When I started the game, I was like: "Oh no, an another game of just point ad click, so called "adventure", which is in fact boring." But then the very god graphics, amazing audio, super story (!😊) and overall fierce fun absolutely "got" me! Yes, I wishlisted it and I swear in the name of the God, that I will buy the full version, if I will be still alive when it will be available.
I am also one of the highest spiritual authorities and I consider the game as a *sweetly* sarcastic take on Christianity without it being offensive or just triggering. You can have advisory from me to finish this treasure of game!😇 For example, what about adding relationships for example in the form that the needed clues would be in other locations based on already found clues about relationships with other people (including their locations)? Satan in the form of a black cat is classic (just please do not serve milk with lemon 🤢). The teacher reminded me the series "Breaking Bad"!:)
All ratings from me are 5 / 5 !😊
Feel free to try, rate and comment my submission - and trust me, that if you really try that (with positive approach, focused etc.), then you will be sweetly surprised evn more than I was with your briliant - not just a gem - game. Challenge (LARP) "White crow" by Ormrin Sinkalte Ged - Sparrowhawk (itch.io)
Thank you for the good words! At the moment I have 15 characters/stories already made (the demo had only 5), so no chances I will not finish it : ) Almost all characters in the demo were inspired on 'real' characters form the movies/tv series or even real life, not only teacher from BB. You advice is very nice, I already working on some levels which will have impacts on other levels. Sending one character to hell will have an impact on another character behavior.
Will check your game too, a bit later as I am on vacations at the moment. Thanks for playing and the wishlist!
A very humorous take on the life of the Son of God. Being a Christian myself I can appreciate the crude humor. I enjoyed the game and passing judgement on the locals leading to different outcomes with different decisions. I find myself wishing for skip function and turn off answering Satan function on the demo when I way replaying and wanting to get different paths and results. That would be my only feedback on improvements in the otherwise very entertaining game you already have.

Thank you a lot! Watching your videos at the moment. By the way, you can leave Satan's messages unanswered and don't watch all the animations about it, it won't change the gameplay. I'll add the explanation to the full version.
