This was a fun little platformer! The movement mechanics felt nice and responsive. The blue torches as checkpoints was a neat touch.

I think some coyote time would add some nice polish to the jumping mechanic to give falling from platforms more of a fair feeling.

My only gripe is that the spikes are so unforgiving, but that's more of a nitpick. It's an overall fun game that you should be very proud of.

I really like the visuals and the audio of the game. I'm not the biggest platformer person but I did find a couple of spots a bit difficult. Trying to do the drop down part with the spike platforms was particularly rough because of how fast you fall and that you can't see the platforms until it is too late, which was a bit frustrating. The respawn spot was in a good spot to offset this a bit though. I think the overall layout of the world though is pretty good and admittedly, while the wall scaling was bit clunky for me I enjoyed it way more than typically wall jumping back-and-forth so that was a nice inclusion too.

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 6! My name's Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts and streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live on my stream.

First, this game looks fantastic. The animation on the knight is just stellar, and everything just looks very well crafted. The music and sound is also amazing, with small audio queues that immediately told me that blue flames were checkpoints. A lot of people forget the importance of audio queues to things like that.

Speaking of audio, it has good sound design too! Different sounds for different effects, and sounds all over the place to make it feel more immersive. I was very happy with them.

Then there's gameplay. This is smoother than butter spread on a slice of bread! The controls mostly made sense. I think my only point of confusion was using CTRL for ducking rather than D and down arrow, but I got used to it before the end.

I was actually sad when it ended so quickly. Not even 5 minutes and it was over. I hope you're making a full game of this, because if not I'll be sad for how much work was clearly put into it.

Thank you so much for your kind words!

I have gathered visual assets from packs that I thought would fit the game and the songs were taken from another site as well. All credited in the game. The sound effects were made and tweaked by me with a special program however.

I have gotten another comment on the ctrl button so I will be fixing that asap.

And I did wish to make it longer but I've made this game while I was working on five other school assignments. But I am hoping to make it's sequal a more proper game with multiple levels once I have the means to get special assets commissioned for the game.

Once again thank you for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

So they're not your own assets, save for the sound effects. Regardless, you thought to choose good visual assets and music knowing how it would influence the impact of your game. You still put together a strong game.

the game is pretty short but nice, the visuals are appealing and the music is catchy (maybe it loops too fast)

however there are a few things that could be improved

- ctrl is a bit awkward for crouching, I would map it to S or something closer

-I would add some sort of effect or small animation when you die, you respawn too fast if that makes sense, you don't have the time to process your error

-the UI and the main menu in general could use some work

Thank you for your comment!

I've gotten another comment on ctrl so I will be changing that soon.

I wanted the death to be fast so that the player can resume the game quickly. Since the game scoring is mostly about the time it takes to complete.

The ui was admittedly the part I struggled with the most. As I was making a game for the first time I was learning everything from beginning and making uis and menus was the most challenging. I will see if I can find a way to improve them.
