Hello! I was one of the streamers who took part in Feedback Quest, and I'm here to leave some comments I had while playing.

To start, I love how colourful the game is. Everything is bright and pops out well, making it almost impossible to get lost. I also love how both enemies and the player are affected by a knockback when the player attacks an enemy.  I don't usually see games do this.

I do feel the attack range is very small, though, given the size of the character. This is both in its horizontal distance from the PC, and the vertical area above and below the fist. I had many occasions where I would jump and attack an enemy and would see the fist clip or even outright hit the enemy only for it to not actually count as a hit. I also think there should be some invincibility frames after getting hurt. While this isn't as much of a problem with enemies, if you accidentally get caught in a burner fire you can die really fast. Finally in terms of my own comments, I'd like to see customizable controls. The default controls feel a little wonky to me.

I also want to note a bug I observed. If I died after collecting some coins, I would lose them upon respawn. This even happened if I saved. This wouldn't be a problem if the coins all returned, but most of the time they didn't and I would just lose the coins permanently.

hythrain, thanks for your comments!

You're right the attack range is small and I have already fixed in the latest release. I also included a rewarding life every 2 or 3 enemies defeated, this simplify the initial difficult for new players.

Yes there's a invincibility time after getting hurt but after reading your feedback and seeing you playing my game I can see is very small and needs to be adjusted.

Regarding the customizable controls I will schedule this feature for futures release in the next months, this game has multiple options of input: the joystick, the touchscreen on mobile and the keyboard that you already use to test it... I need to search examples to make a good menu to give the possibility of customisation for all the platforms... But is an excellent idea, thanks.

Least but not last the losing of money when you die is intentional not a bug, the animation need to be more explicit I think... maybe I'm too punitive to make loosing the coins permanently. When I was developing this aspect I was worried that my game was too easy and I want to introduce the coins system to proceed... Now after your comments and also from other people I see the difficult trough the eyes of a new player and this help me very much!

Honestly, if the lost coins returned to the world after death,  I wouldn't have an issue with losing your coins. It's just that you can't get them again, and THAT'S what feels like a bug.

I will revise this aspect based on your feedbacks, thanks again

I loved this cute little game, I wish I was better at it though.

The sprite art is one of my favourite things about it, it's very fluid, there's pixel squishing when you land, and it it doesn't need to be any more detailed than it is - it serves its purpose. The sound was great, things to perhaps look at is switching up the background music a little, this is only a suggestion but rather than change the whole song when you get to, say the kitchen, perhaps just a note changes in the song to alter the feel of it.

As far as gameplay goes, it works as intended, though one senitment that we agreed on on the stream was the hitting range on the punch that the character makes needs to be a little longer. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this one, and I hope you continue to develop it.

Thank you very much Metarevelations, I like the idea of changing some notes in the main song, I'll do some experimenting maybe changing one of the main instruments...

Making pixel art fluid is a feat, especially if you're working alone on an indie project, it was something I arrived at thanks to tutorials found online and many hours of testing on the game prototype.

You highlighted two aspects, the music and the pixel art, which I am proud of thank you!

Your game looks awesome, this is a great setting for a platformer 😁

The feeling of exploration is nice, the map seems huge, yet I never got lost.

I think the hitboxes are too punitive, the range of the punch is so short it's hard to hit enemies without getting hit yourself. I died a lot because of this, and wasn't able to collect more than 2-3 coins without dying and losing it all. This hitbox issue can even be seen in your first gif, the one where the sausage gets killed. To me the arm should stretch to about twice its size when punching.

Getting out of the fridge feels a bit like finding a secret passage, I was expecting some small secret area and was surprised to see that's actually where you're supposed to go. It should be a little more obvious that this is where you should go.

Finally, this is not directly related to your game, it's better to zip your exe file before uploading it. I had to bypass a lot of security warnings just to be able to download it.

This has tremendous potential, keep up the great work!

Thank you very much Fluburbio!

Yes you're right, I've received the same feedback about the hitboxes from other people and I'm working on it these days, as a developer it's hard to experience the game play of a game you know with your eyes closed, and that's why beta testers' comments are so valuable.

Thanks again!
