I see this is your first game published on Itch! Very good job!
You are now a game developer!

I appreciate sticking with the low risk goals of collecting leaves, and it was not at all punishing if the player fell down to either another platform or the ground.

You picked some good assets to use. (never underestimate the power of free assets for a game designer)

Of course some sound would have been really nice, and there are plenty of free things out there. If you have an interest in music composition, My favorite tool is Beep Box and for sound effects, the quickest to use for me is JFXR

I like trying out different genres (for better or worse), but If you are going to do more in the platforming area, I recommend you look up some additional platformer terminology and physics. It is a little counter-intuitive, because what players want for a good feeling platformer physics is not at all anything similar to real physics.

Adding in a jump buffer, Coyote time,  and falling when the jump button is let go early would all do a great job in improving it. This YouTube video is a great analysis of one of the best platformers out there, Celeste:

This is exactly this kind of critics i was hoping to get in the game jam.

At first the game was really harder, but my main tester was my wife, and in the end, i wanted to make a game she would enjoy and not get frustrated with.

Thanks for the tips about the sound tools. I didn't know either of them! Can't wait to try them on the next jam :).

The video was really interesting, and it showed me how little i knew haha. At first i used the default jump mechanic of Godot but i ended tweaking it 2 days before publishing because it was even more annoying. The thing is that i knew how i wanted the jump to be but didn't know how. Just did my best with it but you video is really helpful. Im probably going to try another platformer in the next months.

Thanks again, you would not believe how much i appreciated your kind words.

Very nice for your first game. Having some audio would really help out, but keep up the great work!

nice little platforming game! the jump felt unresponsive sometimes but it was fun!

just so you now, I had to download the 2 files you put (the .exe and the .pck) to be able to play the game (the .exe only didn't worked) so maybe indicate this somewhere on your page (because you're not allowed to upload anymore)

thank you so much. I'm so glad even 1 person tried my game😊. And thank you for pointing out the 2 files problem. It's the first time I compiled a game and I was in a hurry for the time limit.😅

well, just so you know, when you export your game in godot you have the option to embed the pck file so it makes only one file. also (and especially for jams) it's recommended to export to web, this way you have more chances for people to play your game

Thank you so much ! and for the web, i tried multiple setting but never seems to make it work. Being in a rush at the moment i wanted to publish this did not helped for sure, since i did not have the time to watch tutorials haha. That is something ill have to be ready fo the next time.

At least, i did learned a lot in this game jam and it have been a really positive experience for me. Im getting ready for the next one, wich is the 1-bit Game Jam coming in around 1 month.
