Hello, this jam actually got my attention, but I would like some informations.

I have a pair of questions and I would appreciate your answers.

1. I made like a year ago a 2D fnaf fan game as joke (so yeah is pretty dumb and full of silly arts, ecc.) and I never finished it, it's like really close to the end. Is this game tolerated in this game jam?

2. I made this game on the Scratch website, is this "game engine" tolerated?

Thank you!

Thank you for asking!

  1. Yes, absolutely! Pretty much any game is welcome here, and the world could always need more creations like this. Gamedev shouldn't have to be serious or professional. Sometimes we just want to make a silly FNAF game... and there's nothing wrong with that.
  2. Not only tolerated, but heavily praised! It's more/less how I started trying game development :D and yeah, pretty much any engine is OK.

Looking forward to seeing you finish your game!

Hey, thank you so much for the answers. Now is much clearer.

But I still have a little problem: basically my game, since it was meant to be dumb and therefore with poor effort, now actually have  plenty of copyrighted music assets, and I don't know how to deal with this problem; cause I'm pretty sure that I can't publish games with copyrighted music.

This is the only little problem that would stop me from the jam, but if you can help me with any suggestion I would love to partecipate and finish the game.

Feel free to respond or not, thank you!

Since it's (presumably) going to be a free game, it shouldn't be an issue because of fair use. As long as Scratch lets you host it, you're good and just need to link to it from Itch.

But even if it is an issue, this jam is a bit unconventional and you technically don't need to submit the game itself... just the devlogs that prove you made progress with the game.

Mostly, sorry If I keep bothering you with questions. As you probably already know, Scratch doesn't allow horror games/FnaF games of a certain flow rate, so I was thinking to turn it into a downloadable build, I think it would be a great idea. But if devlogs are enough, that's perfect.

Alright, thank you so much for the help.

Now let's wait for the Jam to start to receive all the details!

Are physical/tabletop games accepted?

As the main organizer told me, I think every game is accepted, hope to help.
