I ended up getting stuck in the kitchen, but overall the vibe reminded me a lot of Maniac Mansion.
It could use some polish, but this could be a pretty interesting adventure game if you developed it further!
Also kudos on the opening cinematic! It was really well done!
Good story with nice use of cutscenes and intricate world building combined with fitting gameplay. Grandma should have never bought that darn painting!

I would have liked the text to go a bit slower, or even to be able to decide for ourselves when to move on to the next sentence. For a non-English speaker like me, it was quite complicated. But anyway, well done!
Yeah, sorry about that, I was running out of time and kind of panicking, and there were so many other things I was trying to do, I kept getting confused. I'll try to fix that in later updates. But thanks for playing!

The music is great! very atmospheric. I like the idea,of the evil chicken portrait. I got stuck in the basement with the writing blocking the screen, annoying as I wanted to finish the game. Good work though.
Oh, yeah, for that part, there should be a little X in the top right of the book. Just click that and it should close the book and start the next video. If it doesn't work, let me know so that I can fix that in an update. I'm glad you like it though! Thanks!
I thought it was cool, but the footstep sounds are very buggy and very loud, and the game is kind of ugly and doesn't use the theme very well.
