How does the game fit into the theme?
Instead of the classical aproach of "Keep moving foward", the theme here was used with the idea of goal. "Keep moving foward, towards your goal"
But to force the idea of foward, for the player to get a better time it must decide to "Keep moving foward to the next checkpoint" or take a detour to the closest one.

What premade assets did you use if any?

And the music "Gameboy" by Walen

It's a beautiful platformer game with some kind of speedrun idea, but the controls are not intuitive, so I need time to figure out what to do. Some guy down below gave you good advice about the tutorial. And I guess it needs a destination, some rewards, something to show that you're making progress in the level.

Overall, good job.

Really cool game, honestly enjoyed this one.  Controls could do with a little fine tuning, found it hard to do the double jump/dash upwards, level could get progressively harder as it was a challenge straight away.  Also I was able to get into the lava without being sent back to checkpoint.  Other than that really good game, nice work.

Cool game! It took a little while to get the hang of the controls, I think in the tutorial at the start you should make it so the player has to reach an area that requires the use of the double jump and dash to start the game, nothing challenging but just enough so that they understand the mechanics before going into the game. The game is fun and a good level of challenging, I died many times trying to take one of the routes where you have to double jump over multiple lava pits, but it was very rewarding when I finally made it. A death counter would be good and maybe a timer too so you can challenge yourself to do better. I enjoyed playing this, good game

I’m gonna work on these later and maybe a scoreboard, thanks for the feedback. The tiple lava pit is also my favorite route XD.

what engine are you using? I use lootlocker to make my leaderboards with GameMaker and its pretty simple to set up and adds a lot to a game like this

Developer

I’m using Godot, the problem was on my time management XD I made the tutorial and the credit in a hurry

Realy neat how backup to check points works I was struggling with jumping for a bit of moment i didnt know how to jump higher

I finished it, this was enjoyable! I like the concept of not having a set path to take. I only wish you would have explained better in-game how the dash/double-jump mechanic is (having to press 'up' as well as 'jump' for it to work properly)

Thanks, I had some troubles while making the “tutorial” and the “credit” need to work on those later.
