Great work. Bold dive into the 1-bit color palette, clever use of backface culling to hide some walls without much hassle. All the textures and sprites are really crispy and read well.

I was missing some more feedback - explosion/hit particle systems, aiming line, camera shake, monster calls, things like that.

Game could also use some ambient sounds for the dungeon, it feels dead when music isn't playing.

It's cool that you've managed to include a progression system with a simple economy in that small of a timeframe. Well done!

Thank you so much for the feedback. We would have loved to do all the things you suggested but we ran out of time.

Oh, I can relate. We had to limit our game to an art showcase format, and we're still programming the features that we designed to be in it in the first place.

I loved it and played it for a lot more than I expected I'd put on an average contribution to the jam. Was the roguelike mechanics a part of it? Of course. Did it remind me of Hedes? Also yes. The "Studying" mechanics is awesome but I think it is  a bit harsh on new players. But once you get it working, it is awesome.

The core mechanics of the game worked really well. The "Inventory" was broken though, I couldn't see the fourth item onwards. Additionally, there needs to be a checkpoint somewhere so one can rest up! If there is and I just haven't reached it, I think it needs an earlier checkpoint. Also, I really liked playing as a female character as default. Hope this helps.

Check out our game if you have time and let us know what you think! We have a little bit of a similar core mechanics and it would mean a lot if you give us feedback on our take on those mechanics!

Thank you for taking the time to really play the game and provide feedback! I agree that we needed a little more hand-holding for new players. We had safe return points but right at the end of the jam they stopped working and we didn't have time to fix them. Hope to add them in the future. I checked out your game too and left a comment! Thanks again.

It was a neat game the spells are a bit janky but I loved the new mechanic. But the ending section were definetly the end for me. Haha. Our character was talking 3lines a second sometimes when you unlock a lot of new things and it can get distracting. But my favorite part might be the fact that they are different spell you can try out and roll with it.

The game is great~! The gameplay loop of a roguelike was captured amazingly and the gimmick of reading spells and learning them as you die and repeat fits both the theme of this game jam and the game itself~ :> While there were some bugs (all of which could be fixed), the game itself was a 10/10 for me~

Thank you for the feedback. We ran out of time to iron out those last few bugs.  We really enjoyed your game too!

FAQ: Make sure to walk up to the main bookshelf in the library and choose which spells to remember. Then click the Book button to remember them.

This game is great!! Love the style of the sprite art mixed with polygons. I will definitely be sinking my teeth into this one.

Thanks Lamp Lighter, we would love to get some feedback regarding the later portion of the game. If you can make it that far! Muhahahah
