There are some pretty cool patterns on display here. I find it pretty interesting how your strategy for each pattern can change depending on your current color.
Cool game! I really liked the elements mechanic, it feels like Ikaruga but with a constantly changing color. You also executed it well, playing an SFX that warns you a bit before you’re about to switch, so you can get away from bullets safely.
The patterns were fun to dodge and the game felt nice to play overall. My only gripe would be that the SFX feel a bit lacking, and the end was a bit abrupt.
Otherwise, good job! This game really needs more ratings!
I love the art, it looks so clean :)
I have won.
The animation of the wings of the dragon is awesome and the enemies look good. The game is fun, it controls perfectly and the difficulty is perfect for my taste. Finally I really like your implementation of the theme, how unreliable it is as half of the time you'll die trying to catch bullets because your element changes at this time is just great in the context.
The one thing I'm missing when playing is a BOOM sound when an enemy dies.
Cool one!
Quite a good short classic shmup you got here. Gameplay overall feels good to play. The artwork looks very nice, I really like the details of the dragon.
But well, this game is very short and lacks core features like slowdown, boom... and the game needs some more impactful juice.
Extremely abrupt ending but very beautiful detail on the art, and if you made the music and sound effects yourself too that's very impressive. As for the game itself, it's a classic shmup and it feels good, so the issues are minor gamefeel things; primarily too many enemies with a lot of HP (it doesn't feel satisfying when it takes so long to kill any enemy! this is why shmups generally have zakos that die in one hit), and also the fact that getting a powerup can take so long if you have bad RNG, esp with how short the stage and boss is, that you can sometimes not get one at all; that said, the bullet patterns are quite fair and quite beautiful, and it is still a fun time. You have a lot of potential as a developer!
Thanks! The art was split between me and a friend, along with the coding. As for the sound effects and music, that was my friend's doing. I would've liked for the game to have more content and for it to be more balanced, but we ran out of time since we started late. Appreciate you for checking out our game!
