Huh, the end sign was really spouting my words xD "But I was just getting into it"
Superb Atmosphere&Effects! (would love to peek on the source code ^^)
Thanks for the compliments! I took some time and put together a 'Source Snippet' of the games assets (including scripts) so that people can look through it and see how I created parts of the game. You can find it here! Have fun looking at my messy code! :P
The lights effects are stunning =3
In addition with those sfx the atmophere suits the game nicely ! (Are the wind sounds made by voice ? =O)
Would have liked a bit more content of course (some mechanics to understand the kind of gameplay it is going to be).
Great job, don't hesitate to notice me if you update the game =d
Thank you very much! You're correct in your guess that the wind was made with my voice. I recorded it by blowing straight into my mic multiple times, removing any excess sound, layering and rearranging them to sound more natural, and then finally importing them into unity where I would add a reverb effect. You are the second one to guess that :P
In regards to the extra content, I actually have some elements of the search light detection system implemented but I was unable to get it to work properly before the game jam came to an end so I disabled it upon release. What would happen is that the alien ship would detect the player and start tracking them. The lights would actually turn red and an alarm would blare from the ship. The main problem in the end was trying to figure out if the player was in an area that the ship shouldn't be able to see in to. It was buggy and didn't work most of the time.
I might get around to giving it an update soon, just not now (unless there's a major bug) since I practically burned myself out of working on that game over the course of the week. I'll try to remember to let you know if I do :)
The Lensflare is epic!
Super nice. And these soundeffects are very nice! I was instantly hooked by the atmosphere
Very nice! A bit short but yeah... it's a game jam. Good job!
Very short and yet a very beautiful game! I really liked the atmosphere the game created and the audio was very good : ) My only issue is how fast the game ends :(
