You can make a puzzle game where you control not 1 but 2 character to pass a level. There, you are not alone. Or you can make a roguelike dungeon where you have to protect some one that follow you, that you have to heal and shield them constanly. Somehow horror is the last thing pop up in my mind. i more think of the theme like a survival game.
